Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has advised that The Biosecurity Act 2015 requires the use of new wording on new packing declarations.
DAWR has received legal advice that the phrase ‘Unacceptable Packaging Statement’ must be used on documentation under the Biosecurity Act 2015.
This means that the old ‘Prohibited Packaging Material Statement’ as required by the non-commodity information requirements policy has been replaced with the ‘Unacceptable Packaging Statement’.
New Statement
To assist you in meeting these new requirements we have made a new packing declaration template available for download from the Magellan website. Other formats and declaration templates can be found on the DAWR website.
While DAWR will continue to accept the prohibited packaging statement until 16 June 2017, they request that all new declarations be made with the new statement forthwith.
