It has been announced by various shipping lines that due to the constant delays in Sydney, AU a “Port Congestion Surcharge” will be applied. This will be applicable to every import and export container through the port of Sydney. The fee will be:
US$ 100 per 20ft
US$ 200 per 40ft.
The implementation date is varied according to individual lines. First date is 22nd October and latest date is 11th November at this stage.
Magellan Logistics have no option but to pass this fee on to our clients, however as mentioned not all lines are applying the charge and it will only be invoiced where applicable.
